With the 2026 season start just a month away, it’s time for some predictions. These are all wildly uninformed and maybe even verge on the insane, but they are mine, and i just think they’re neat.
George Russell wins the championship. #
- New drivetrain, impressive all-round driver, and the absolute #1 driver in his team. George has everything going for him to win this season’s title. A quick search shows that most people agree with the sentiment.
Ferrari botches racetactic at least once. #
- If this article was a bingocard, this would be the center square freebie.
Papaya rules causes a Papaya crash. #
- They will not have learned their lesson after last year’s crash in Canada with Norris’ DNF.
Piastri anounces his departure at McLaren before the start of next season. #
- Growing displeased with playing second fiddle to the world champion, Piastri gets offered a seat somewhere else as number 1, and takes the offer.
A Williams driver wins at least 1 race. #
- Williams’ steady climb back to the top will start bearing fruits this year. Sainz seemed more confident in the second half of last season getting comfortable in his new setting.
Bortoleto ends higher in the championship ranking than Hulkenberg. #
- Audi will probably put Bortoleto in the prime seat by the summer.
Aston Martin will end in the top 5 of the constructor championship. #
- Adrian Newey. No notes.
Alonso will have at least 1 podium spot. #
- He’s had a dry run for some time now, but this year will feature his final hurrah.
I fully expect it to be a more exciting year than previous season with the big rule-changes. I’m very curious what Cadillac will bring, and how Audi will fare under its new flag (previously Kick Sauber)- i am also very much a fan of their new livery, which features a lot of red details - a colour that makes the car go faster.
